What is Freestay Caribbean and who are
the people behind it?
Tropical Shipping, in cooperation with the Florida-Caribbean Cruise
Association, Hotel and Tourism Associations and the Ministries of
Tourism for the participating islands in the Caribbean, recently
launched Freestay Caribbean. The program is designed to entice cruise
ship passengers to return to the islands for a land-based vacation. As

What is the coin and how do I use it?
Like the doubloons handed out during the famous Mardi Gras festivities
in New Orleans, Tropical Shipping is minting special coins
designed with a famous landmark or logo of each island. The coins also
include the web address of our site, www.freestaycaribbean.com, and a US
toll-free (800) number for the island’s Ministry of Tourism office.
These coins will represent specific values for extended stays and/or
discounts at the properties featured on our website. The special offers
to cruise passengers will also be available through the 800 number
listed on the coin.
