Minister for Tourism, Hon. Brenda Hood,
supports Grenada Freestay Program
The Ministry of Tourism fully endorses the Caribbean Freestay program,
which is a collaborative effort between the Grenada Hotel and Tourism
Association, Tropical Shipping and the cruise industry.
The purpose is to encourage cruise passengers to return to Grenada for
longer stays after
experiencing the island as a cruise passenger. The partnership between
the hotel sector and the cruise industry is very important since both
entities aim to ensure that the visitor leaves satisfied with the
service, delivery and product.
As Minister for Tourism in Grenada, I welcome this initiative, since it
allows visitors to explore the destination, and appreciate the variety
of
product offerings more thoroughly. The coin given to you, the cruise
visitor, enables you to enjoy discounts on services during your return
visit as a stay over guest.
Therefore, I extend a warm welcome to Grenada, the Spice Island of the
Caribbean, so named because of the variety of spices such as clove,
nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and tumeric available in one destination. In
addition,
for each month of the year, there is a major activity or cultural
festival taking place on the island. Grenada's got it - the food, the
sun, white sandy beaches, lazy days, rainforests, waterfalls, and
amenities.
Whether this is your first visit as a cruise passenger or stayover
visitor, Grenada is the place to be. We are very happy that you have
chosen Grenada as your destination of choice. Have fun, and come back
to Grenada!!!!
