views the Freestay Programme as bridging the gap between cruise tourism,
the hotel sector and other land based ancillary services. This partnership
is good for business, since cruise passengers have the opportunity to again
enjoy the destination for a longer period of time as stay over visitors.
This creates a ripple effect, as more goods and services are developed to
service both sectors of tourism. The end result is economic growth for Grenada
and the Caribbean region, reflected in the
creation of jobs, foreign exchange and revenue generation. As Minister
for Tourism, I am pleased to state that the Government, and People of Grenada are happy to be associated with the FreeStay Programme developed by Tropical Shipping to assist in the development of tourism in the region.
